A special naming ceremony for two former 海角直播 employees was held on Thursday, May 25, 2016.
The Betty Byron Memorial Atrium was named for Byron who served as the librarian at 海角直播 from 1975-2005. She retired shortly before her death in February 2005. During her tenure, Byron served in many other capacities that directly impacted the growth and development of the College:

鈥淏etty loved books, students and people. She was a defender of the underdog and fought discrimination of all kinds,鈥 said Laura Winningham, a former colleague of Byron鈥檚 in the library and the Betty Byron Memorial Atrium benefactor.

The Dr. Daniel Bahner Center for Innovative Teaching & Learning and Student Scholarship recognizes Bahner, a 25 year employee of 海角直播 who passed away in December 2015. - Chair of the English Department
