Welcome to the 海角直播 Classified Senate

The Classified Senate promotes the voice of classified professionals on non-collective bargaining issues and provides the President of the college with recommendations and views on matters affecting classified professionals and the conduct, welfare, and growth of the college.

Classified Senate adopted the following tenets for classified professionals' participation in shared governance following the 9+1 model:

1. Curriculum systems integrations and implementation;
2. Degree and certificate requirements;
3. Educational program development;
4. Standards or policies regarding student services, support, and success;
5. College governance structures, as related to classified roles;
6. Classified roles and involvement in accreditation processes;
7. Policies for classified professional development activities;
8. Processes for program review and annual planning;
9. Processes for institutional planning and budget development;
+1 Any other district and college policy, procedure, or related matters that will have a significant effect on Classified Staff.

Meeting Dates

The Classified Senate meets at least once per month on the second Friday from 1:15 - 2:15pm, unless otherwise noted. We reserve the fourth Friday for time-sensitive business. All permanent classified employees at 海角直播 are voting members, and all meetings are open to the public. All meetings are hybrid. If joining via Zoom, the link can be found below.
