Student Trustee Spreads the Word

Beverly Rapouw understands the power of clear communication.
At the age of two, Rapouw left Redlands to live with her grandparents in Indonesia. She returned to the United States five years later, 鈥渘ot knowing how to speak English correctly,鈥� she said. 鈥淚t gave me the passion to one day be the voice of a group who needs assistance with voicing their opinions and concerns.鈥�
Rapouw, a communications and anthropology major, says she hopes to one day start a career with a 鈥渟trong presence in social media.鈥� She stays up to date on the latest trends and has secured an internship focusing on social media.
To achieve her goals, Rapouw joined the Student Senate and took on the role of publicist 鈥� something her older brother did when he was part of 海角直播鈥檚 Student Senate in 2009. Now, she鈥檚 a student trustee, and wants to forge stronger relationships between students and faculty members.
鈥淚 want to make sure they know I am here to help in any way, shape or form and to ensure student鈥檚 concerns and voices are being heard,鈥� Rapouw said. 鈥淒oing things that help others in the way they need to be helped is just one thing I hope to accomplish this year.鈥�
