Resilience in the Face of Loss: 海角直播 Celebrates the Achievements of the 2023 Respiratory Care Graduates

On December 14, 海角直播 celebrated the graduation of the 2023 Respiratory Care class. CHC鈥檚 Respiratory Care program is one of the best such programs in the region. Program Director, Dr. Michael Sheahan, noted that this didactic and clinical program is so rigorous that they began with 37 students and lost 12 students in the first semester. Seventeen students graduated and will become full-fledged respiratory care therapists.

Special Delivery: 海角直播 families in need treated to holiday gift exchange at annual luncheon

Christmas came early for more than a dozen 海角直播 families, all thanks to a longstanding holiday tradition that started in the mid-1990s. On Dec. 15, Good Ol鈥 Saint Nick and his merry elves from the College鈥檚 Psychology Club surprised guests with a catered lunch and bags filled with Barbies, trucks, dinosaurs, and much, much more.

'Eyes of Freedom' Memorial returns to 海角直播

The 鈥淓yes of Freedom鈥 memorial made its way to 海角直播 earlier this month after a stop in the Midwest. CHC leadership along with other members of the campus community and local politicians gathered inside the Roadrunner Caf茅 on Dec. 4 to formally welcome the exhibit to campus, marking the second time 鈥淔reedom鈥 has been displayed at the College. Created by Ohio-based artist Anita Miller, 鈥淓yes of Freedom鈥 tells the story of 22 Marines and one Navy Corpsman who lost their lives during the Iraq War in 2005. The men were deployed with Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, which suffered some of the heaviest U.S. casualties during the conflict.

海角直播鈥檚 respiratory care program continues to distinguish itself as a premier training program, among the nation鈥檚 best, by placing third in the Sputum Bowl, which, despite its humorously unglamorous name, is the time-honored competition among teams from respiratory therapy educational programs that have won their state鈥檚 Sputum Bowl contests to earn the right to compete on the national level. This event was held Nov. 5-8 in Nashville, TN, at the annual convention of the American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC).聽

The City of Redlands recently donated a firetruck to 海角直播鈥檚 (CHC) Fire Academy, an asset that will support its firefighter training program. The Redlands City Council unanimously approved the donation and transfer of the fully equipped 2002 Seagrave firetruck to the college.
