Zachary Swing says he was never the 鈥渟porty type鈥 growing up, but rather discovered later an appreciation for art that allowed his creativity to come to life.

Swing, along with dozens of other 海角直播 art students, invited their friends and family to view what they鈥檝e been up to this semester during a reception for the Spring 2023 Student Art Exhibition, held Wednesday, April 26.

Around 300 pieces were on display from various mediums, including drawing, sculpture, painting and 3-D design. The reception showcased  students鈥 interpretation of certain prompts given as part of an art class, said organizers.

Among the pieces displayed was Swing鈥檚 3-D design of a sharpie box that he somewhat modeled after a dinosaur-like creature using only geometric shapes such as triangles and circles. He said the process took a lot of time and the exhibit serves as the 鈥渃ulmination of all of our creations 鈥 this semester.鈥

鈥淲e have, of course, other things on the side we can create,鈥 the 24-year-old Redlands resident continued, 鈥渂ut these are our assignments, and [through them] we are able to see 鈥 how far we鈥檝e come since the beginning of the semester.鈥

The Spring 2023 Student Art Exhibition is made possible in part with funding from the 海角直播 Foundation. To learn more about the exhibit or the Galley, go to craftonhills.edu/art-gallery or call 909-389-3353.
