Developing an appreciation of quantitative and qualitative research was the focus of the Spring 2023 海角直播 Student Research Conference.
Held Friday, April 21, in the 海角直播 Learning Resource Center (LRC), the student-led event invited Honors students and members of the college鈥檚 Psychology Club to share their research projects with attendees.
鈥淪ome students are sharing research they presented at other conferences, and others are preparing to present their research at future conferences,鈥 noted Judy Cannon, coordinator of the Honors Institute at the Yucaipa-based college.
Topics varied and included a look at 16th century Aztec religion and the connection of grade point average and social support. Research for some students, like Melissa Hernandez, an 18-year-old psychology student from Yucaipa, took months to complete and prepare for presentation.
鈥淲e are hoping this is the base for future research projects,鈥 Cannon said. 鈥淪ome of our previous students have even taken these projects with them to their transfer university and expanded their research there.鈥
