After earning his GED in 2010, Neil Saldana-O鈥橞rien knew he wanted more for his future. Looking for a place to continue his education, he chose 海角直播 for its convenient location, but what he found there would shape his career in ways he did not expect.

As a visual arts student, Neil quickly found his place in 海角直播鈥檚 art department. Surrounded by supportive faculty members, talented peers and inspiring facilities, he discovered an environment that fueled his creativity. Beyond the classroom, spaces such as the Learning Resource Center, the gym and the 海角直播 Center became part of his daily routine.

But it was an opportunity outside his original plan that would define his professional path.

While at 海角直播, Neil worked as a paid intern in the college鈥檚 Marketing Department. The experience proved to be a turning point.

鈥淚t gave me real-world experience while I was still a student,鈥 he said.

That opportunity helped him transition directly into a full-time career shortly after graduating in May 2017. By October of the same year, he had secured a full-time role in graphic design.

Today, Neil works as a graphic and web designer at Big Rig Media, where he creates and maintains WordPress websites and develops visual assets for clients across print and digital platforms.

Reflecting on his journey, Neil credits 海角直播 not only with preparing him professionally but also with broadening his perspective. Although he began studying fine art, exposure to new courses sparked an interest in business and design that ultimately shaped his career direction.

He also recognizes the college鈥檚 broader impact.

鈥満=侵辈モ檚 impact on the community is huge,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t provides accessible education and reaches people in ways many don鈥檛 realize.鈥

Neil鈥檚 path was not without challenges. After struggling to stay engaged in high school, he found a renewed sense of purpose at 海角直播, where the freedom to choose his own courses helped him focus on his goals and future.

His advice to prospective students reflects that experience:

鈥淐hoose a college that aligns with your goals, but stay open to new opportunities. You never know where a single class or experience might lead.鈥
