On May 12, 海角直播 held its Nursing Services Pathway Certificate Ceremony, recognizing 22 students who earned CNA, HHA, ACNA, or multiple certifications through the program.
Instructor Anyssa Henrich opened the ceremony by acknowledging the graduates for the work it took to get there. 鈥淗ealth care training is not easy,鈥 she said. 鈥淥ur students have balanced long hours, clinical experiences, personal responsibilities鈥 Despite those challenges, they continued to show up.鈥 She emphasized that graduates were leaving not just with technical skills, but with 鈥渃ompassion, professionalism, patience, and integrity.鈥
Dean Dan Word reinforced the intensity of the program, noting that earning multiple certifications in a single semester requires focus and commitment. 鈥淚t鈥檚 caregiving when you might not feel like giving care鈥攆ind it,鈥 he told students. 鈥淭his is a milestone on a longer journey.鈥
Student speakers brought specificity to those challenges.
Kailynn Quezada, a dual enrollment student, reflected on entering the program without a clear direction. 鈥淎fter long hours studying and lots and lots of caffeine鈥攚e did it,鈥 she said. She highlighted the responsibility that comes with the role: 鈥淲e鈥檙e not just caring for residents. We make an impact on their families鈥 and sometimes we become part of that family.鈥
She also acknowledged the realities of training. 鈥淲e鈥檝e been bitten, scratched, yelled at鈥 but through all of these challenges, we persevered.鈥
Sam Rojo focused on the meaning behind the work. 鈥淏ecoming a CNA is not simply about completing tasks,鈥 he said. 鈥淚t鈥檚 about being guided by ethics, love, compassion, and responsibility鈥 doing the right thing when no one is watching.鈥 He added that the experience reshaped how he sees care: 鈥淐ompassion must become action鈥攁nswering a call light, protecting dignity, noticing when something is wrong.鈥
The ceremony also included student awards selected by faculty. Jennifer Marquecho
received the Professionalism and Leadership Award, Dylan Osborne was recognized for
Clinical Excellence, and Mariel Cuevas Gutierrez received the Rising Star Award for
growth and perseverance.
