The Multilingual Program represented 海角直播 at the Puente Linguistic Justice Conference (Puente LJ Con) on March 17, 2026. Now in its sixth year, Puente鈥檚 LJ Con brought educators together for a day of learning, reflection, and conversation grounded in linguistic justice. The conference creates space for educators to critically engage questions of language, culture, and liberatory practice. This year鈥檚 keynote speaker was Dr. Mike Mena, whose work focuses on the ideological perceptions of race and language in the context of American education. 

Members of the Multilingual ZTC Faculty Learning Community presented on the opportunities and tensions of building linguistically just curricula for ESL/multilingual students, specifically how to support students鈥� development of English within institutions that privilege standardized forms, while also raising awareness of the racialized nature of language.
