For the third consecutive year, 海角直播 (CHC) has been recognized as the top community college in Region 9 for University of California (UC) transfer admission rates, continuing its proud legacy of student achievement and equity in higher education. According to the latest data from the UC Information Center, CHC鈥檚 transfer admission rate for the 2024鈥�2025 cycle rose to 78.99%, up from 73.68% the previous year.

CHC President Dr. Kevin Horan said that 海角直播鈥檚 students鈥� success reflects the strength of our mission and our people. 鈥淭his ranking is the result of intentional, equity-minded work and proves that when we align our efforts across the college, our students reach new heights.鈥�

Even more noteworthy are the accomplishments of CHC鈥檚 disproportionately impacted student populations. Black and African American students achieved a 100% UC admission rate, and Latinx students were admitted at a rate of 81.03%鈥攆igures that emphasize 海角直播鈥檚 deep commitment to equity and its efforts to close persistent opportunity gaps.

鈥淭hese numbers tell a powerful story of equity in action,鈥� said Dr. Delmy Spencer, CHC vice president of student services. 鈥満＝侵辈モ�檚 commitment to student-centered design, high-touch support and intentional outreach is making a measurable difference, especially for our Black and Latinx students.鈥�

鈥淭his success story belongs to our entire campus community,鈥� said Dr. Ivan Pe帽a, dean of student services and counseling at 海角直播. 鈥淔rom our classified professionals and instructional faculty to our dedicated counseling team, everyone played a role. Most of all, this is a reflection of our hard-working students鈥攚hen we provide equitable opportunities, they rise to the occasion and continue to make us proud.鈥�

CHC鈥檚 rise as a transfer leader is rooted in strategic, student-centered practices. Counselors and University Transfer Center staff regularly engage in UC training to stay current on transfer criteria, ensuring students receive timely and accurate guidance. Additionally, equity-focused initiatives and intentional outreach through our Student Success Team model have strengthened support systems for Latinx and African American students, contributing to the college鈥檚 standout results.
