CHC鈥檚 One Book One College Team selects This is How it Always is as the 22-23 book.

The group called for nominations using the following criteria in making the selection: Addresses issues of equity and inclusion, is relevant to the current CHC student population, inspires critical dialogue and an opportunity to test one鈥檚 own ideas, is interdisciplinary, has a message that can develop empathy, can build community amongst students and staff, and is accessible.

This is the College鈥檚 third year adopting a book which is incorporated into classes, activities, events, and trainings throughout the academic year.

This year鈥檚 book explores gender identity as inspired by its author鈥檚 transgender child. The author, Laurie Frankel will visit 海角直播 in the spring to provide students and employees with the opportunity to learn more about her personal experiences and writing. Frankel will work directly with CHC鈥檚 composition and creative writing students and be featured at a President鈥檚 Circle VIP event.

Activities for employees and students will be organized throughout the year. They will be aimed at providing a safe space and opportunities for discussion, growth, and understanding of gender identity at 海角直播.
