In the Fall 2021 semester, 海角直播 successfully conducted a virtual transfer fair with 70 universities (in-state & out-of-state). Attending this event were 1,201 students from across the region. The success of the virtual fair prompted Riverside City College to conduct its own transfer fair following 海角直播鈥檚 model and became the second college to offer a virtual fair that term.
For Fall 2022, 12 Inland Empire colleges will offer a collaborative virtual fair using the 海角直播 model, which was constructed by Senior Student ServicesTechnician Brandice Mello. Transfer Center Coordinator Mariana Macamay is leading the efforts to bring the 12 colleges together in this massive collaborative project.
鈥淲hile we had some hiccups, the event was overall a huge success,鈥 shares Macamay, 鈥...so much so, that we were invited to present our collaboration at the annual Transfer Summit so that other regions could learn from our efforts.鈥漈he Transfer Counselor Summit is a conference for counselors and counselling staff who want to learn more about how to help students transfer. It brings together between 400- 600 attendees each year. This year鈥檚 Summit is scheduled for March 28. For more information, visit https://ccctransfer. org/summit/.
鈥淭ransfer fairs are a great opportunity for students to connect with a wide range of universities from all over California and out-of-state. In keeping with the trend, this fair will be virtual so that students can participate from the comforts of their own space,鈥 Macamay concluded.
