Transferring to the four-year university can stressful, but not for long! Below is a list of steps, organized by month. Since this is for Winter or Spring admission, please note that not all the Cal States or UCs are open.

Stay up to date, sign up for the non-graded for access to transfer information, get announcements of important deadlines, and join in events. 

From the following options below, select a month or topic to be taken to the appropriate section!

 

May - Start Your University of California (UC) TAG

 

UC TAG DEADLINE
May 1 - May 31st

 

  • UC TAG (): Guaranteed admission to 6 UC campuses.
  • Steps:
    • Meet with a counselor to check if you're eligible.
    • through the TAP website.
    • Watch or attend a UC TAG workshop.
    • Submit your UC TAG application May 1 鈥 May 31.
    • In addition, submit the UC official application July 1 - July 31

 

June - Fix Grades & Ask Questions

  • Got any D or F grades? Talk to a CHC counselor about your options to repeat or complete the academic renewal process 鈥渨ithout course repetition鈥.

July - Submit Your UC Application

 

 UC APP DEADLINE

July 1st - July 31st

 

  • Window: July 1 鈥 July 31.
  • Steps:
    • Apply to open UC campuses for Winter (quarter)/Spring (semester) transfer.
    • Watch our how-to videos & or attend a workshop to complete your application.  
    • Update your or application with the universities you applied to.  

 


 

August - Apply to Cal State Universities (CSU)

 

CAL STATE APP DEADLINE

Aug 1st - Aug 31st

 

  • Window: August 1 鈥 August 31.
  • Steps:
    • Apply to CSU campuses open for Spring transfer.
    • Watch or join a workshop.
    • Update your or Application and add the CSUs you applied to.

 


 

September - Follow Up After Applying

Congratulations on submitting your application(s)!

  • What鈥檚 next?
  • Next steps:
    • Check your email & spam for university responses and your student ID.
    • Activate your student portal and follow the university's steps.
    • Submit your by September 1 (ideal for transferring students), but the official deadline is September 30. 
  • Transcripts:
    • If 鈥減artial transcripts鈥 are requested, send them by deadline.  
    • If you entered AP scores, send official results from . AP scores must also be on file with admissions and records at 海角直播 to apply toward your graduation requirements.
    • If you attended other colleges, send those transcripts directly to the universities you applied to.

 


 

October - 海角直播 Decisions

  • Got accepted or denied?
  • Next steps:
    • Accept your admission offer (pay your deposit).
    • Register for their orientation.
    • Send with GE Certification from 海角直播.
    • Start your or Application for next year (open October 1, due by March 2). You may be eligible for in addition to federal grants, and you do not have to pay them back.

November - Decisions, Appeals, and Financial Aid

  • Sign up for I've Been Admitted, What Now? workshop.
  • Denied? You can appeal鈥攎ost campuses give you less than 15 business days. Reach out to the University Transfer Center as soon as you receive the notification to help you with the appeal. 
  • Reapply if denied 鈥 CSU & UC apps reopen Oct 1 - Nov 30. See a counselor.  
  • Still need help?
    • Attend workshops (Show Me the $$$) workshop to help you understand your financial aid award letter and provide other financial resources)
    • Meet with a .
  • : If requested, order with CSU GE or IGETC Certification.
